Hi, my name is Kendel Rector. I am a sophomore at the University of Southern Indiana, I am currently studying Elementary Education with a minor in reading. My main focus is to become a first grade teacher at really wherever. As long as the education is fulfilled to every student. I currently just read the novel, The One and Only Ivan. I surprisingly enjoyed the novel because I am not a reader usually. But this book really intrigued me. And plus it characterized elephants. The book was interesting because each animal had their own personality and character. Also the way the author wrote into a poetic form was quite different than all the other novels that I have ever read. That is a really great way to pull a reader in. I also noticed that it was not chapters, there was just headings on top of the pages for a new so called "chapter" to begin. I really thought that was creative on the author's part. Overall, this novel gives you warm fuzzies and can also bring a frown to your face. But I really enjoyed this story.
